No rain in England!

7A Sprachreise nach London und Canterbury, 7. bis 16. September 2012

It was a wonderful time the 7A spent in London and Canterbury. No rain, no good food, no boredom! Three bright days in London were all we had to see the many sights like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and its Elizabeth Tower (former Big Ben), the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, the Tower of London or Madame Tussaud’s wax figures. There was so much to see and so much to do. We hardly noticed that the Paralympic Games were still on. Only on public means of transportation the masses of people were visible and apparent.

Warm sunlight was also our companion in the beautiful city of Canterbury, where we spent a full week living with host families. In the mornings we had lessons at Stafford House language school, in the afternoon we went on several excursions or did project work in the city centre. Getting in touch with locals was on the one hand a real challenge for us, however we profited a lot from talking and joking with native speakers.

Apart from the food at the school’s canteen, which turned out to be as insipid as expected, our group went on sunny day trips to Dover Castle, Greenwich and Brighton. Putting some toes into the cold Atlantic Ocean became one of the best experiences that will stay in our minds forever. We, the 7A travelled together, studied together, had fun together and proved to share a really good team spirit in good, old England. CU soon!
